11/20/2018 Rudder – Prepped and Primed Most Parts (4 hours)
In the morning I drilled the two holes on counter balance rib and the counter balance lead part. It took me a while to figure out the size of the drill bit to use. I ended up using #12 bit because I don’t have a #10 drill bit. I did have #10 dimple dies and countersink bit from my toolkit. I tested the drill bit, dimple dies and countersink bit on two pieces of scrap sheets before working on the real rudder parts. I also deburred and dimpled all the holes on the skin.
In the afternoon I washed and primed most of the rudder parts. The skins still need some work like deburring the edges and scuffing the surface before priming.
