06/11/2018 Horizontal Stabilizer – Front and Rear Spar Miscellaneous Items (1 Hour)

I drilled and primed a new elevator bearing today, carefully avoiding primer on the most inner bearings. I still ended up with a little primer on the top of some outer bearing, but it does look better than my first piece a couple days ago. I guess it’s hard to be perfect priming this bearing piece. I don’t want to use tape that’s too sticky, but the standard masking tape always allow a little primer going through from the edges.

I also countersunk the center river holes on HS-710 and HS-714, and dimpled the corresponding holes on HS-702. I had to undid the cleco a couple times to apply a few more burst of the air drill with the countersink bit, in order to remove any gap between the countersunk and dimpled holes.
