04/07/2018 Toolbox Kit Completed

I spent about 6 hours today working on the toolbox kit.

I agree with most of the comments that I’ve seen from other builders that the instructions are not super clear, especially the part about hinge alignment. If I blindly following the text in the instruction, I would not be able to close to the lid. Thanks to the folks who had screwed up and posted online, so that I was able to avoid the mistake. As for the assembling process, I continue to find new ways to make mistakes when riveting. Biggest lesson learned today was that I absolutely need to secure the aluminum piece with clamps or vise when bucking rivets, my hands can’t hold the bucking bar, rivet gun and the aluminum piece at the same time. I was a little lazy to clamp and every time I did so I punched smiley face on the universal head and/or destroyed the shop head.
